Scrub Club Changes Name, But It Is The Same LIE!The Scrub Club has changed it's name to "The Adult Entertainment Club" and claims it is under new ownership. It is running advertisements claiming that it is under new ownership. It says there are no more fines for the girls. Maybe that is true, but that is probably the only thing true about the Scam Club. The original owner, Jerry Andrews, still owns the Scam Club, whatever he wants to call it. Jerry always uses women to front for him. He used a former girlfriend's name to get credit card merchant accounts and had her buy the house in which he lived with his wife and child molester buddy. If The Adult Entertainment Club is indeed actually owned and operated by people other than Jerry Andrews, prove it and we will be happy to take down this site. Until then, it is the same scam run by the same person.

Michael Carroll, the general manager of the Scrub Club is a three time convicted gay child molester and classified as a sexually violent predator. He lived with Jerry for months in Colorado until the neighbors drove him out. See the Update Page for details. He lived upstairs from the Scrub Club until he was recently arrested.Monroe County Sheriff Official Mugshot.

Consider this. If anything on this site was untrue, do you think it would still be here? This site has been up continuously since September 2004. We also put up posters around the club and have other activities.
The sales pitch goes like this:
"Hi, have you been here before. Well, let me tell you how it works. Our sessions are only $150, up to an hour. You get to pick the girl you feel the most comfortable with, she'll take you back to a private room and get you naked. From there you can get topless modeling, bottomless modeling, fantasy and fetish role playing, toy shows, and mutual masturbation shows. You get the idea? Will that be cash or credit?"
While this is being said a bell will be rung and the girls will come out into the lobby. They will introduce themselves and the manager will press you to pick one and pay the $150 session fee. Now is the time to flee. (The session fee was $100 during the time I worked there, but was raised to $150 after I left.)
They hate questions. They will do everything they can to avoid answering specific questions. The owner, Jerry W. Andrews, has a fit if anyone tells you there is no sex. He wants to avoid that discussion at all cost. If you ask about sex, some of the girls will try to mislead you into believing it is possible so you take the session and so that you tip them. Rest assured, you will NOT get sex. There is no sexual contact. It makes no difference how much you tip. There is no sex. Not a chance.
(*UPDATE: Since I wrote this, various people have told me, sent email and wrote in the forums that you can indeed get sex if you tip enough. The tip range seems to be $500, $800 or more depending on the girl and how badly she needs money.)
Now, it is only fair to say that you might be happy with the private show you can get at the club if you do not mind spending hundreds of dollars above the $150 admission charge. If you have lots of money to spend to look at a reasonably attractive woman while you masturbate yourself, you might be happy there. More often than not, the customer is not particularly happy.
In truth, you get a 15 minute lingerie show or light oil rubdown for the $150. The $150 goes to the club and although it is an admission charge, they pay no sales tax on it. The girl sees no part of this $150. The girls are independent contractors and sign an agreement every week attesting to that fact. The girls make money only from tips. The purpose of the first 15 minutes is to get you turned on enough to be willing to tip. But if the girl thinks you don't have any money or if you object to tipping, you will be lucky to get a 15 minute show. Most of the girls will spend long periods in the bathroom or hanging outside the room door, or whatever they can do to let the 15 minutes go by so they can get rid of you and have a chance with the next sucker. You ONLY get a session of one hour if you tip well enough to get a show that long.
Thus, for everybody walking through the door the club is making $200.
Tips of $400, $600, $800 or more are more common then you think. (Lots of tax free income for the girls, some of whom are illegal immigrants and could not get legitimate jobs.) I wonder how many actually declare it and pay taxes? A tip of $100 or $200 which you would feel is very generous is looked down upon by most of the girls. Ironically, virtually all the girls are not all that pretty or hot, but they look better after a few drinks.
Some girls will make comments to make you think that you might get sex. One named Valerie is famous for this trick. She will tell customers things like, "What goes on the in room is just between you and me." "I like hard things in my mouth." After you tip some big bucks, you'll find out you are not going to get sex. Chances are you will be kicked out. When you complain, you'll be reminded that asking for sex is a criminal offense.
Customers sometimes will call the police themselves to complain about being ripped off. This is pointless. The police will only tell you that it is a civil matter and you will have to sue in civil court.
Customers sometimes get violent. Don't. You will be arrested. Everything in the lobby, the hallway and in front of the club is recorded on video tape. I should know, I installed the system. They also make copies of driver's licenses, get your signature and thumb print. Pretty dumb to do anything illegal right in the club.
Although it might be possible to tip a girl enough for sexual contact on an escort outcall, it will not happen in the club. First, it is against the rules. There are a lot of rules, but this is one of the most important and one a girl can be terminated for. All the rooms have peepholes and the manager and general manager walks around and checks the sessions to make sure nothing illegal is happening and to get their jollies at your expense. Also other girls in the club will peek to see if they can get another girl in trouble, especially one that is picked too much or is making too much money.
Paying by credit card is another story. If you pay by credit card, the club requires you to provide identification which is copied. You also sign a gift certificate in advance saying that all services were delivered. You also have to provide a thumbprint. There is no way to do a chargeback and claim that wasn't really you at the club. Lots of people have done chargebacks against the Scrub Club for various reasons, some fair and some not fair.
Recently, because of the large number of chargebacks, the club lost both of the two merchant accounts that it had. Of course, it should not have had those accounts in the first place, but that story is told elsewhere on the site. They have recently obtained new merchant accounts, but of course they are not in the name of the club owner.
However, in the 2.5 years I worked at the Scrub Club they had at least one merchant account. The $100 entrance fee (now $150) is paid to the club and was a proper use of the merchant account. Then there were tips to the girls. Credit card tips to the girls were processed with the club's merchant account. The girls had to pay 30 percent of every tip to the club for the credit card processing (when the club pays a discount rate of about 3 percent) and had to wait six months before actually getting a check for the tips. If a girl makes ANY mistake on the paperwork for the credit card tip, they do not get the tip. It makes no difference if this affects the club getting paid or not. The girl does not get paid. The owner, Jerry Andrews keeps the money.
Herein lies one of the biggest crimes of the club owner, Jerry W. Andrews. Remember, the girls are independent contractors. They are third parties. They are not employees. The credit card tip does not go to the club (except for the thirty percent processing fee). Under Visa and MasterCard rules, and Florida state law, a merchant account can not be used for processing charges for third parties. In fact, a merchant account can't be used for another business owned by the same person. Jerry Andrews was convicted in 1998 of 12 counts of credit card fraud called factoring, for this very thing right here in Key West, Florida.
Jerry Andrews, of course, wants his cake and wants to eat it too. He doesn't want to pay the girls. He doesn't want them as employees. He doesn't want to pay employment taxes, not even for the actual employees. Therefore, he has the girls sign weekly contracts saying they are independent contractors. Bingo, hundreds of counts of factoring, or in other words, under Florida law, felony credit card fraud. And law enforcement in this county has no freaking clue even when they are told about it. They view it as a victimless crime and because there is no "victim" in Monroe County to file a complaint, nothing is done about it. More about this and other crimes on the Jerry Andrews Criminal Page.
Factoring exposes the credit card company to increased risk. All credit card processors are backed by banks which are ultimately liable for the risk. For example, Jerry Andrews owned a tanning salon, the Scrub Club and a bar. Although I do not know the actual details, the example is on point. Let us say he had a merchant account for the tanning salon and ran the charges from the Scrub Club through that account or through the merchant account for the bar. Both businesses are owned by the same person, so many people might not see the problem. The problem is that this is factoring, a felony criminal offense. Why? It exposes the bank to unknown risk. It affects the rights of the bank, which is fraud. The Scrub Club would be an entirely different SIC code or business classification from that of the tanning salon. The Scrub Club would probably have a higher discount rate and might have more money held in reserve for chargebacks. By using one merchant account for multiple business or for a business that the merchant account does not belong to is very simply a fraud on the underwriting bank.
The Scrub Club is a dictatorship. If you think the club taking 30 percent of a girl's tips is bad, wait until you read about all the rules. Every girl is given a list of the rules which runs to some dozen pages. If a girl is late, she is fined for every minute. If a girl does not show up for her shift, she is fined $300. If a girl gossips about Jerry, she is fined $300. If a girl falls asleep, there is a big fine. If her cell phone rings there is a fine. If she does not get up to the lobby fast enough when the bell is rung, there is a fine. If a girl makes a mistake on her paperwork, there is a fine of $30. The minimum fine for anything is $30. There are girls that have now and have had thousands of dollars in fines. Collecting these fines is a major source of income for the club. This is a major profit center and a way to get even more out of the girls. No matter how careful any girl is, she is still going to get fined as there are so many details and rules to remember. The fines are also part of the contract that each girl signs weekly, so either they pay them or they do not work.
Even though the club has recently lost its merchant accounts when this site was first established (they have subsequently obtained new merchant accounts), you can still use a credit card there. The club has two ATM machines which it owns. The first machine is in the lobby which customes use to take out $100 (now $150) for the session fee. That machine charges a fee of $5 per hundred. Then, after you are in the session and find out that you need cash to tip the girl, the girl takes you to the back ATM machine. Here the club charges you a $15 fee for every one hundred dollars you take out. A nice little profit on that ATM transaction. And, if you take it out, you'll end up giving it to the girl you picked.
To give you an idea of how profitable the Scrub Club is, in June 2004 before Jerry decided to purchase an apartment in Odessa, Ukraine for $80k or so, each ATM contained $35,000 in cash. The ATM's were basically the club safes. Jerry emptied them to buy the apartment. More about this in the Jerry the International Criminal page. Since that time though, they have not contained anything like that. There were times after that when there was no money or very little money in the ATM machines because Jerry would plunder the business for all the money he could get. This made the girls very unhappy as it seriously cut down on the tips they could manipulate out of the customers.
Jerry loves to sue people. He spends big bucks every month paying lawyers. I have seen checks for $5,000 at a time. One of his targets is the IRS, which claims he owes $100,000 to $200,000 in taxes, Mind you, this doesn't include all the income tax he has evaded the last five years or so. Jerry thinks he can intimidate people and damage them with civil lawsuits and apparently he gets by with it. Actually, when you are done reading this entire site, you will see that Jerry Andrews thinks he can get by with anything at all. You will note that this site has been up since Sept. 2004. I am sure Jerry would love to sue me, but the problem is everything on this site is true. If he did sue, I will love to do discovery.
The Scrub Club has a number of employees at any one time. Employees include the general manager, the managers who work the day and night shifts, a secretary, a maintenance person (until recently that was me, though I did much more), and sometimes someone for security and a barker. These people are not independent contractors, but are employees as a matter of federal law. However, the owner tells everyone they are an independent contractor. Imagine, being an independent contractor at ten dollars an hour!
Calling an employee an independent contractor is just a method of illegally avoiding the expense of withholding taxes, paying FICA (Social Security), paying unemployment compensation, paying FUTA (Federal Unemployment Tax), and paying Workman's Compensation. An employer withholds FICA from an employee's check, plus has to match the amount and pay it to the federal government where it is credited towards the employee's social security contribution. If you do not pay into social security, you will not get much when you retire.
I am sure every employer would like to call their employees independent contractors to avoid these taxes and expenses. If it were legal they would. There would be no unemployment insurance, no workman compensation, and no social security. We would all be disposable slaves, which is how the Scrub Club treats its employees.
It is no wonder that the Scrub Club goes through employees that even in Key West makes you wonder why they don't install a revolving door. The City of Key West would not let the Scrub Club have a glass door, so that is probably why there is no visible revolving door.
A few weeks later Joe decided to quit. He promised Jerry that he would pay him back, but Jerry was having none of that. He had Joe arrested for forgery. The Key West Police didn't even talk to me... talk about a great investigation.
Jerry threatened to have me charged with allegedly selling a couple of sheets of extra plywood that belonged to the club to the former general manager right before Hurricane Ivan. Trying to be a good neighbor. Of course all of Jerry's evil deeds go unpunished. Of course nothing happens to Jerry for not paying me my last two checks or for keeping my refrigerator and other property I had in the shed at the club.
Jerry has a clever way of using rewards and threats to get what he wants, and he can get other people to do his bidding, especially women. He is also good at getting people to do things that are wrong or illegal without them knowing it by explaining it all away.
Jerry is also famous for refusing to give employees their final checks. He won't give me my last two paychecks and he refuses to release my refrigerator and other property that is in the shed. This is typical Jerry Andrews. Screw everybody.
Jerry tried to have me arrested too. He spun a big tail, but the only thing that the police paid attention to was a claim that I stole two sheets of plywood worth $35. This was not true. The police department dropped the investigation.
In February his newest general manager emptied the money from the two ATM machines and took off. Jerry, naturally, claimed there was $60,000 in the machines. This is nonsense. At best there was $6,000, but Jerry can't tell the truth about anything. Jerry will never learn.
Since that time there have been other general managers who he has also screwed over. We have heard from some of them. Now, July 29, 2005 it looks like Mike Carroll is back at the club to manage it until Jerry can find some other sucker to do his dirty work.
The girls also have to provide the 15 minute show or light oil rubdown for no compensation. Isn't it clever. The club gets paid $150 plus the session fee (room rental) from the girl and the girls do a free show in the hope of getting tips. Such a racket.
The biggest issue is the session fee charged the girls. This session fee is in reality a rental fee for the room, and includes the cost of providing the linen, and the use of a washer/dryer. The girls have to clean the rooms themselves. The club pays no sales tax on the rental of these rooms, nor does it pay any bed or other taxes normally required from a short term room rental.
Neighbors to the Scrub Club became aware in late 2004, that a sexual predator named Michael Carroll was living at the Scrub Club. This is an interesting story. Apparently Jerry Andrews, the club owner, met Carroll while he was in prison for the credit card fraud. (Not certain how they met, but this is the most likely.) Andrews had been sending money to Carroll monthly and when Carroll was released he had the general manager pick him up and pay the rent at a halfway house. Later, Carroll was in a library in Palm Beach when a patron complained and then called the police due to the web pages Carroll was viewing (young boys in their underwear the report said). Carroll was arrested, but the charges were later dropped. Following that, after Carroll was released from the halfway house, he came to Key West and lived upstairs at the Scrub Club where Andrews had an apartment. Jerry can be a nice guy, but there is usually some underlying motivation. Why he helped support a convicted homosexual sexual predator is not known to me.
While Carroll was living at the Scrub Club, Jerry was on vacation with his Ukrainian girlfriend, Yulyia, (Julia) whom he later married in Las Vegas. (Read about his immigration fraud in the Jerry the International Criminal section.) Jerry returned to the club and arranged to purchase a house in Littleton Colorado. He had his staff pack up all his stuff and Carroll left with Jerry for Colorado.
When the general manager quit, Jerry and Carroll came back to the club for a week or so to hire some new managers. They didn't find a general manager. They then flew back to Colorado a couple of days before Ivan arrived. (Jerry got interviewed at the airport by the Miami Herald. The online link we had here no longer works.)
Although the Key West Citizen in the Wednesday October 6, 2004 Crime Report said that Carroll was on vacation with Jerry, the truth is that Carroll had moved into Jerry's house and was living in the basement. Jerry had rented Carroll a cheap hotel room 23 miles away which is where he was "allegedly" living, but Carroll (according to police information) had never stayed there. They even interviewed the housekeeping staff who confirmed the room had never been used.
Carroll had failed to register in Colorado according to the web site of the Colorado Dept. of Investigation and he failed to notify Florida authorities that he had left the state and was living in Colorado. Colorado authorities contacted FDLE which apparently contacted the Key West Police Department. KWPD sent investigators to find Carroll at the Scrub Club. Surprise, Surprise. He wasn't there. Florida issued a warrant for Carroll's arrest and Colorado authorities went to Andrew's house in the 1700 block of Mountain Maple Avenue in Littleton, Colorado (Douglas County) where they found and arrested Carroll. I have little doubt that Carroll was only following Jerry's instructions as Jerry is an absolute control freak and you don't want to cross him.
There is some justice. Carroll served a couple of months in jail.
After a few months managing the Scrub Club, Jerry fired and evicted Michael too. Nobody lasts very long there. They did make up and Michael once again moved to Jerry's house in Colorado which brings us to the point of the "Updates" given at the top of the page and related links, which continue on their own page as they have gotten rather extensive.
In a nutshell, this time Carroll had to register with Colorado authorities with his real address of Jerry's house. Law enforcement notified the neighbors and the shit hit the fan. There was a public meeting with over 400 people. There was print, television, radio and internet coverage. The neighbors were up in arms. Read all about it on the update page. Carroll finally returned to Key West where he has been since living at the Scrub Club. Jerry and Yulia were very unpopular in their neighborhood and moved, buying a house in December 2006 in the new StoneWater Subdivision of Raleigh, NC 27610.
Andrews uses people, but he doesn't have any use for animals. He doesn't like dogs, but he really dislikes cats. He forced employees to go get a cat trap and trap all the cats which came through the yard. Here is a picture of the friendliest one trapped in its cage. Of course the Humane's Society doesn't hurt them. They just check to make sure they aren't sick and have been neutered or spayed. They are then released. I don't know where they release them, but this particular cat found its way back in a couple of weeks. Ha ha.
It is so ironic that neighbors and other people in the community were upset by the three vans that Jerry purchased and had decorated with women in swimsuits and advertising for the club. (One was destroyed by a drunken driver, and the other two were done in by Wilma.) People were so upset about that, but that is nothing compared to what is going on. I suppose it was a nice distraction anyway.
Jerry Andrews and the Scrub Club is nothing but a parasite on the backs of honest people and honest taxpayers. Law enforcement has done nothing. I previously have said it is time for citizens to step up, but other than bitch, nobody in this town apparently has the guts to do anything except flap their lips. Hopefully the IRS and State Revenue will care about all the money they are being screwed out of and justice will have its day.
